Playground

Coming soon: explore the RISE system yourself.

The RISE Playground will become an interactive environment for exploring how nature-inclusive decisions can affect agrifood systems over time and across space. It will bring together biodiversity indicators, stakeholder perspectives, value-chain dynamics and the system dynamics and spatial models developed within RISE.

Users will be able to experiment with different assumptions and scenarios, explore trade-offs between biodiversity, business viability and societal objectives, and see how changes in one part of the system may generate effects elsewhere. The spatial component will also help explore where different measures may be feasible or impactful under different regional conditions.

Rather than providing one prescribed solution, the Playground is intended as a learning and decision-support environment: a place where farmers, businesses, policymakers, researchers and other stakeholders can explore possible transition pathways together, compare alternatives and better understand the feedbacks, synergies and unintended consequences involved in nature-inclusive change. RISE will use interactive scenario testing to examine ecological, economic and societal effects and to inform practical implementation pathways.

The Playground is currently under development and will grow as the RISE models, data and regional case studies develop.
